Freret Fest & move
1st June 2007
One of my most memorable New Orleans moments will forever be Freret Street Festival last year. Trombone Shorty gettin’ funky as the sunset from the other end of Freret Street cast a warm glow over the scene.
Get your groove on Saturday, eat some Dunbar’s red beans, and try out the new ice cream shop on Freret Street.
Then, on Sunday, give fellow New Orleans blogger Lisa a hand with her move so she can start the major structural renovation to her hurricane-twisted Carrollton house. It’s taken almost two years of battling with her insurance company and contractors to get to this point. Now she has a really generous contractor who actually knows what he’s doing. Before the contractor can start working, Lisa needs to move everything out of the house, and gut it. A few good backs would be a big help. It’s actually not a lot to move, and wouldn’t take more than a couple of hours if a bunch of people pitch in. She’ll have a moving truck, and everything’s going into a storage unit, so it’ll be pretty easy. The goal is to be back home by September.
Shoot me an email if you want to help with the move … or reply below with contact information — I’ll delete the comments after I read them.
