Ray Nagin really did have the list that counts, as Lee Zurik demonstrated. Among the findings:

The owner of a double on Toledano Street is New Orleans Police Superintendent Warren Riley. NOAH charged the federal government for cutting his grass in the home remediation program, even though Riley likely would not qualify under the program which helped elderly and low income homeowners.

Supt. Riley e-mailed WWL-TV to say he “has no knowledge of the grass being cut by the city.”

So the obvious questions to ask Riley are, “Are you saying the mayor’s list is inaccurate, are you contributing to the blight problem in New Orleans by being a slumlord owner of a house you pay no attention to, or are you really so dumb that you don’t wonder who’s cutting your grass under the blazing hot New Orleans summer sun?”

Karen refers to NOAH as just one example of low-hanging fruit in a rotting orchard. Lee Zurik just followed the obvious, simple questions posed by Nagin’s new list — “the list that counts.”

I think there’s probably one more “list that counts” in the mayor’s office, and Lee Zurik’s on it. I know who isn’t on Ray’s “cold cock” list — the staff at ABC 26 and Fox 8 who won’t touch anything controversial with the daft hizzoner’s office, which is why they’re the only ones left to whom the cold-cocking mayor will provide one-on-one interviews.
