It’s about time for a class-action defamation suit against right-wing media
3rd April 2009
The citizens of New Orleans
v.
Clear Channel, Neil Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Bill O’Reilly, Fox News, all of their advertisers, and the rest of the liars in right-wing media
If [insert right-wing bloviator] “won’t use the current misery of Midwestern flood victims to score points on the previous misery of New Orleans flood victims… who will?” (Thanks Scout).

Actually, Neil Boortz is a libertarian, not a right-winger, and he is very socially liberal (he is pro-choice, pro gay marriage, supports legalizing marajuana, mocks religious fundies on his show all the time, and calls extremist southern flag wavers “flaggots”.)
Anyway, even though my entire family lost their homes in Katrina, I’m really sick of people here thinking they’re the only ones who ever freakin’ suffered. Indonesia was swallowed by 15′ of water less than one year after the 2004 tsunami devastated them (killing tens of thousands), but you never hear about it because Katrina happened between the incidences. And there have been several major, natural and man-made flooding disasters in the USA since 2005 (river floods, houses swept away, bridge collapses, huge levee failures in the midwest) but none have been covered like Katrina, so if anyone has the right to complain - it’s everyone BUT us.

Libertarian, right-wingnut — what’s the difference. These are people who all say that government is the problem. That government can’t solve anything, and should keep it’s hands off of rich people’s money.
So we should stop complaining when wingnuts go out of their way to vilify victims of Katrina, or of any disaster for that matter?
I don’t see your point.
